A wide range of music organizations in Enschede worked together to realize their artistic ambitions and attract new audiences. Permanent contacts between the different organizations were a prerequisite for achieving these objectives. Because shared accommodation offers the best framework for maintaining such contacts, the City of Enschede provided funding for the development of a Music Quarter. Other contributors include the national government, the provincial authority and the business community.
