Subotica water- and sludgeline

During the period 2006-2008, DHV has designed and implemented the reconstruction works of the wastewater treatment plant of the city of Subotica, in the northern part of Serbia. These reconstruction works are executed to upgrade the existing wastewater treatment facilities up to a capacity of 36,000 m3/day, including de-nitrification and dephosphorization processes. The upgraded WWTP will serve 100,000 households with sustainable effluent treatment.Read more

Caspian water quality monitoring and action plan for areas of pollution concern

The Caspian countries find it important to protect the ecosystems in the Caspian they share. DHV is providing assistance to these countries to develop a Regional Water Quality Monitoring Programme, and a Pollution Action Plan for areas of pollution concern. These EU financed activities are in support of the wider Caspian Environment Programme and Tehran Convention. Read more

Integrated water resources management plan Orontes basin, Syria

The project supported the Syrian authorities to introduce the concept of Integrated Water Resources Management, on a pilot basis, in one of Syria’s most important basins, the Orontes basin. The first phase focused upon the development of a river basin characterization, including a revised water balance and an environmental flow assessment. The second phase focused upon setting objectives for the basin and the development of actions and measures at an operational level. Read more
