At DHV, we gladly use our knowledge and expertise for a sustainable society. In our projects, we therefore work proactively on sustainable solutions. At the same time, we continuously strive for improvement, which we achieve through innovation, training, and tools. We set the example in our own operations by increasing the sustainability of our accommodations, mobility, and purchase terms, among other aspects.
Our operations are climate-neutral and we actively work on reducing our carbon footprint. We create room for passion, participation, and team spirit, while continuously maintaining a dialogue with our stakeholders.
Many businesses and governmental organizations rely on our knowledge and vision in the field of sustainability. For the longest time, DHV has been devoting attention to sustainability in its work for clients and partners as well as in our operations. In 2006, we took a next step and created dedicated Corporate Responsibility Management.
Sustainability in projects
We make our contribution primarily through our projects. Our website presents numerous examples in that regard. We continually develop ourselves by challenging the creativity and capacity for innovation of our employees. Our employees are supported in this regard by sustainability training and tools. In addition, we are increasingly frequently applying sustainability principles in project selection and evaluation procedures.
Sustainability in operations
It is evident to us that we also practice in our own operations what we preach. It is becoming increasingly important to take effective measures against the consequences of climate change. Therefore, our operations are climate-neutral and our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint with at least 25% by 2015. Two important measures to achieve this goal are progressive mobility and accommodation policies.
Talent to the top: people care
Our business is the work of people, even though we use and develop prominent technical solutions. Diversity in knowledge, background, age, gender, and personality of our people is very important in that regard. Therefore, we have joined the covenant of “Talent to the top”. We continuously invest in the training and development of our employees. We deem it important to create room for passion, participation, and team spirit.
Building futures: social commitment
Making a social contribution with the combination of knowledge, time, and money is a good fit for DHV. Under the name of “Building Futures”, we support projects that contribute to education and sustainable development. In addition, our employees are very active in initiating social projects. DHV encourages and supports these initiatives.
Dialogue with stakeholders
It is of great importance to us that our clients and other stakeholders perceive us to be properly addressing sustainability. Consequently, we began actively maintaining a dialogue in 2005. Since then, we have maintained an open and meaningful dialogue with our employees, clients, universities, social organizations, financiers, and shareholders. We use this valuable input to further shape sustainability.
